Learning Goals
  • Applying elements of creative writing

  • Understanding scientific vocabulary

  • Researching and analyzing information

Products and Deliverables
  • A book with short stories and graphics

  • Animated trailers for each story

Specific Literacy Strategies Used

1. Research Note Catcher: This was used to support students in finding good sources and synthesizing the information into their own words.

2. Plot Post-It Activity: This was used to help students flexibly plan out the events of their story. Ad advantage to this process is that they could focus on crafting the events of their story seperately from focusing on the narrative structure.
